Most of our customers are very picky about the food they feed their dogs. That goes for their treats as well. We talked about the Tricky TrisKuts line last week. Their Chompers line of treats is a great locally made product that your dog will love and it’s good for them too.

We have another selection of home made dog treats available from The Pet Pantry. They are made in Boston, Mass and they come in several varieties including some which we feel are unique. The dogs that come in the store seem to love them and because of that, we want to spread the word. These treats are made with no preservatives and are as basic as you can get. If we were to make cookies in our house, they would be made the same way.

One of the treats we’ve never seen before is the Chicken Strips.  They are made from 10o% chicken breast. They are cooked and dehydrated so they are crunchy. Our customers dogs love them!IMG_0982

Another unique treat are the Cod Skins. This is one of those “Why didn’t I think of that?” things. The skins are bought from local fishermen, rolled out by hand, then slowly dehydrated. They are 100% Cod skin and the dogs go nuts for them. Just like the chicken skins, they are crunchy and not greasy.

Another unique treat is the duck treat. This cookie is high in protein and low in fat. It’s dehydrated, like the chicken and fish but it’s pressed into a bone shaped cookie. It’s simple ingredients of farm raided duck, honey and potato flour make it a very healthy treat for your dog. Even the picky one’s will like this.IMG_0983

Finally, there are the bite sized chicken bits that are great for training. These treats, like all of them, are byproduct free with chicken, brown rice, and potato flour. These treats are perfect for times where you will be treating frequently and don’t want to go heavy on the calories. They’re dehydrated like all the treats so they are not greasy. Throw some in your pocket or bait bag and you’re good to go.

Feel free to stop by the store and see these for yourself. Bring your dog and see which one’s are his favorite.
